A corporate headshot typically features a single photo of your face, without revealing specific details. On the other hand, personal branding involves a series of photos, not limited to just your face, that showcase your personality, values, and approach. Consider the 5 W's - who, what, when, where, and why. Your personal branding photos should address the inquiries of your potential clients.
Q: WHAT IS PERSONAL BRANDING?
Personal Branding is combination of two things that exist and interact together:
Who you are / who you want to be (internal)
Who you show the world you are (external)
Internally, your personal brand is a way feeling, believing and becoming. Externally, your personal brand is your three internal areas translated into something visual. Your personal branding photo shoot includes a planning session where we discuss both the internal and external aspects of your personal brand. After the shoot, you’ll see that image reflected back to you through your photos.
Q: HOW DID YOU BECOME AN EXPERT IN PERSONAL BRANDING? IT IS NOT ONLY ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHY , BUT ALSO THE CONCEPT AND PLANNING OF THE SESSION?
This is a great question, one that I love answering.
First, my experience in marketing and advertising . Second, I have studied with some of the best photographers in the industry learning and understanding facial expression, art direction and posing my clients. My years of experience has given me the understanding of the psychology that goes behind not only creating a comfortable environment for my clients but also understanding the details that visually convey my clients’ personality.
Once upon a time, before I became a professional photographer I had a career in marketing working in New York for Henry Schein and JP Morgan Chase. My work focused on writing product descriptions for brands like Proctor & Gamble and selecting the perfect images to develop the brand’s message.
